WELCOME
Welcome to a
new school year at Groveport Elementary School.
I would like to introduce myself.
My name is DanaĆ© Sperk and I will be your child’s art teacher. I grew up in Reynoldsburg where I was a
gymnast and cheerleader. I am the
youngest child, with two older brothers. I graduated from The Ohio State University
with a bachelor in art education. My
husband and I are huge buckeye fans. We
love watching football in the fall. In
my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, playing volleyball, and making
artwork. I am also the new freshman
cheerleading coach for the football season.
I believe the arts are a vital
component to a successful education. It
is important to be able to express yourself through different avenues and to
reflect upon the art that surrounds us daily.
I am looking forward to all of the awesome projects in store for child. We will be viewing, discussing and creating
artwork inspired by different cultures, artists and materials. We will be using the elements of art to help
us create fabulous artworks.
There are
several ways to help support the art program at our school. We can always use the following supplies if
you would like to donate them: erasers, pencils, markers, watercolor paint,
glue sticks, black sharpie markers, paper towels, baby wipes, tissues and aluminum
foil. Any donation is greatly
appreciated!
I am excited
to be a part of the Groveport Community.
I intend to make learning a positive experience for your child. Thank you so much for all your help. Let’s have a great year together.
