Upcoming Levy. May 6th is voting day!
Operating levy and Bond issue
Levy Failure:
- Restore transportation for GMHS
- Restore programs and phase in dual credit programs so students can earn college credits and improve our programs that prepare our students for college and future careers by offering courses geared to, for example, engineering and technology to name a few
- Reinstate all extra-curricular activities and athletics
- Invest in the proper books and technology our students need so that they can meet -- and even exceed -- required (state) expectations
- Minimize cost to community which we know is important to them
- Allocate $1 million for building repairs
- Maintain positive financial carryover
- Begin construction of a new high school, which will resolve our overcrowding issues and provide an adequate facility for new technology, science labs, etc.
Levy Failure:
- Continue without high school transportation
- Failure to secure funding from an operating levy would result in a recommendation to eliminate Art an all Music programs.
- Eliminate all extra-curricular activities and athletics
- Only offer Ohio Core programs, English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Restructure how we offer Fine Arts, Language courses, and other electives
- Reduction of administrative and clerical staff
- Closing all buildings at 4 p.m. everyday
- Possibility of closing a facility and consolidating 3 middle schools to 2 middle schools
Art Show
Thank you to all of those who came to Encore Night! I hope you enjoyed seeing your child's beautiful artwork! I know the students are proud and excited to take home their work. All of the artwork will be coming down within the next week so be sure to keep an eye out for it!
The town hall art show has been cancelled this year due to water damage. The repairs will take the next several weeks so we unfortunately will not have our artwork on display.
Thanks again for supporting the arts!!

ARTSONIA
Groveport Elementary is on artsonia.com
Sorry, I have not updated the blog in a while but I have been VERY busy with artsonia.com. Artsonia is an online gallery for student artwork. You can view, comment and purchase keepsakes with a picture of your child's artwork on it. When you purchase an item 20% comes back to the art program so it's a GrEat way to support the visual arts. Please check out the site!!

Visiting Illustrator
Steve Harpster visited Groveport Elementary!!
4th Grade Art Club made two welcome banners for our visitor. We hung these in the stairway to make sure he saw them on his way to the auditorium.
Along with the banners, several students colored one of Steve Harpster's illustrations. They were on display throughout the entire school!

We're off to another GrEat year
Welcome to a new school year at Groveport Elementary. Throughout the school year we will be communicating by combined art and music newsletters. These newsletters will inform you with current and upcoming projects and events that your child will be experiencing at school. Please
let us know of any questions or concerns you have. We are very excited
to be enriching your child’s education with the arts and we appreciate
your support!
Sincerely,
